Government Lochan Prasad Pandey College, Sarangarh

Govt. Lochan Prasad Pandey College Sarangarh was established on 8th August 1983. It is situated in Bilaspur road in Khelbhatha area of Sarangarh. Initially the name of the college was Government Degree College, Sarangarh, which was later renamed after great Litterateur Shri. Lochan Prasad Pandey in the year 2008.

The tagline of the college is “Aa no bhadraah kratvo yantu vishwatah” that means, “Let noble thoughts come to us from every sides”(Humare liye sabhi oor se kalyankari vichaar aayein). As the tagline gives the expressions of positive and all round growth of the students of the institution, as per the vision of Higher Education.

The college is affiliated to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur. The college offers streams of Arts, Science and Commerce. Along with BA, BSc and BCom, The college also offers Post graduate degrees in 5programmes, i.e. MA in Sociology, MA in Economics, MCom, MA in Hindi Literature and MSc in Chemistry. A unit of National Service Scheme (NSS), National Cadet Corps (NCC), Youth Redcross Society (YRS), Red ribbon club is also there in the college. 

A separate study center of Pt. Sundar Lal Sharma Open University (PSSOU)is also situated in the college campus. The college works in its own building, with large playgrounds for outdoor games. The main purpose of the college is to bring educational quality along with values to the students and shaping up their minds to become national assets.
